Recycling has a real impact on the environment

As the only integrated recycling collection, sorting, and resale company, Ricova is proud to actively contribute to the protection of the environment and of responsible consumption, through its know-how and overarching goal of reducing the amount of waste we produce, which ultimately harms ecosystems.

According to the Recyc-Quebec website, recycling is defined as “the use, in a manufacturing process, of a material recovered as a substitute for virgin material”. Composting and bio-methanization are also considered as recycling processes.

« No Planet B »

It is well-known that recycling contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHGs), the main culprit of climate change. For Ricova, it is by transforming our recyclables into new products that we are able to preserve very valuable resources, such as paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal.

To achieve this, we constantly listen to our customers to implement with them the most innovative solutions. « Sur le climat, il n’y a pas de plan B, car il n’y a pas de planète B » (For climate, there is no Plan B because there is no planet B), declared the president of the French Republic, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, in June 2017.

This famous phrase has travelled around the world and continues to spark conversation ‘till this day. We, often, still get rid of our waste without worrying about its impact on the environment. Many contaminated containers end up in the recycling, while others that are recyclable are simply thrown away.

We must always keep in mind that recycling can give a second life and this is the result of our work. It is very important to be fully aware that pollution affects us all and that we must all work together towards the same direction: to preserve and maintain the nice quality of life of our living spaces.

Every gesture counts!
