Ricova highlights twenty years of valorizing recyclable materials

PRESS RELEASE

BROSSARD, Wednesday, September 1st, 2021. – Ricova, the only integrated company that deals with the collection, sorting and resale of recyclables and of is entirely Quebec ownership, celebrates its 20th anniversary today. This new step in its development marks two decades of successful growth, investment, and commitment in offering its expertise in the collection, sorting and valorization of residual material in Quebec.

This anniversary also becomes a great opportunity to reaffirm its social contract with citizens, clients, and partners by offering even more solutions that meets their needs, all while taking a ‘zero-waste’ approach to the management of residual material. Furthermore, if the company has been here for 20 years, it is all because of its main driving force: the people. It is all thanks to the women and men of Ricova that the company is what it is today.

“Born at a time where Quebec was taking its first steps in recycling, Ricova announces today a renewed mission: to continuously serve its customers by recovering and valorising all materials collected, and to invest in its recycling processes to become a leader in zero-waste management,” says Dominic Colubriale, president of Ricova.

A Quebec leader for 20 over years

The birth of Ricova in 2001 came at a crucial moment marked by an increase in exportations to Asia. Hence, Ricova took this opportunity to take the lead as the first large-scale company from Eastern Canada to export recyclable material from Quebec and Ontario to Asia.

Throughout the last 20 years, Ricova has made significant and targeted investments in finding outlets for recyclable products on the international market. In doing so, Ricova has become, throughout the years, a true leader in the management of residual material in Quebec. It’s in this spirit that Ricova launched, in 2007, its fist recyclable material collection service. Furthermore, after gaining and perfecting important knowledge and expertise, Ricova would, eventually, acquire the responsibility of operating and managing several sorting centers on this island of Montreal.

‘Because the past guarantees the future, we will continue to collaborate with our clients and partners to find opportunities for the reuse of all recycled products. Our firm commitment in increasing the value of recycled materials and in developing close ties with both local and international markets make Ricova, today, one of the most innovative in the industry,’ concludes Dominic Colubriale.
